About me

I'm Martin Piffet

I'm a pharmacist and senior adviser (chefkonsulent) at the Danish Medicines Agency (Lægemiddelstyrelsen) in Copenhagen, where I have worked since 2009. I have broad experience in regulatory affairs for both human and veterinary medicines, nationally and at EU level.

My core work is turning legislation into practice. I interpret EU and Danish pharmaceutical law, including the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2019/6 on veterinary medicines, and draft Danish and European guidelines. I represent Denmark in the CMDv, the EU coordination group for veterinary medicines, and I am product owner for the agency's medicines database. I also teach regulatory affairs at the University of Copenhagen, Atrium and Pharmakon.

It is professionally very rewarding to get closer to how our Indian colleagues approach regulatory work, and to share our own experience of the methods we use in the EU.
